What’s the difference between flat and round fiber cables?

Flat fiber optic cables are ultra-thin, flexible, easy to hide, and ideal for indoor short-distance use. Round cables have stronger compression and tensile resistance, better for outdoor, pipeline, and long-distance backbone applications.

What core counts are available?

Common options are 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 cores, supporting both single-mode (G.652D/G.657A1) and multi-mode (OM1/OM2/OM3/OM4) fibers.

Can it be bent frequently?

Yes. It has a small bending radius and good flex resistance, suitable for repeated bending in narrow spaces without breaking the fiber.

Is it waterproof or weather-resistant?

Indoor flat fiber optic cables are generally moisture-resistant but not fully waterproof. For outdoor use, we recommend specialized outdoor-rated flat drop cables with PE sheath.

What sheath materials are available?
