GJYXFCH All-Dielectric Self-Supporting FTTH Drop Cable

The GJYXFCH Self-Supporting Butterfly Drop Cable is an all-dielectric, figure-8 (bow-type) FTTH drop cable engineered for the last-mile connection between aerial distribution points and subscriber premises. Unlike the metallic-reinforced GJYXCH, the GJYXFCH uses two parallel FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) non-metallic strength members inside the flat butterfly section, eliminating induced currents and providing superior lightning immunity—making it the preferred choice for regions with frequent thunderstorms or where grounding restrictions apply.

Characteristics of GJYXFCH Butterfly Drop Cable

fiber optic cable
Full Non-metallic Structure

GJYXFCH adopts non-metallic strength members without any metal components. It effectively prevents lightning strike risks, electric leakage and electromagnetic interference, making it safe to deploy near power lines, distribution boxes and strong current facilities. Fully complies with indoor electrical safety regulations.

fiber optic cable
Self-supporting & Good Tensile Performance

GJYXFCH designed as self-supporting type. No extra messenger wire is required for short-distance overhead or wall-mounted installation. It owns sufficient tensile strength to adapt to conventional overhead laying in residential communities and buildings.

fiber optic cable
Flexible & Easy Construction

GJYXFCH flat butterfly profile with small overall dimension. The cable is soft and bendable, suitable for pipe threading, concealed wiring, surface cabling and narrow spaces such as cable trays and weak current wells. It greatly reduces construction difficulty and improves working efficiency.

fiber optic cable
Excellent Optical Transmission Performance

GJYXFCH equipped with standard G652D single-mode optical fiber. It features low transmission loss, stable signal and wide bandwidth, fully meeting the requirements of broadband, IPTV, video monitoring and gigabit network transmission.

fiber optic cable
Fire-retardant & Environment-friendly

The GJYXFCH outer sheath is made of high-quality flame-retardant PE material. It has good flame resistance, aging resistance and weather resistance, applicable for long-term use in corridors, indoor public areas and residential rooms. The material is non-toxic and eco-friendly.

fiber optic cable
Light Weight & Space-saving

GJYXFCH compact structure and light weight. It occupies little space during cabling and stacking, convenient for transportation, storage and bulk engineering deployment.

Residential Buildings & Home Networking

  • FTTH Fiber To The Home: The most widely used cable for telecom operators to deliver broadband network from street fiber distribution boxes to household optical modems.
  • Pre-wiring for New Houses & Villas: Buried in concealed pipes during decoration to build gigabit/10-gigabit whole-home fiber network.
  • Old Community Network Renovation: Surface wiring on walls to replace traditional copper cables for broadband upgrade.

Special Working Environments

  • Concealed Pipes, Cable Trays & Weak Current Wells: Flexible and bendable design adapts to narrow piping and enclosed cable trays.
  • Laying Near Power Lines: GJYXFCH non-metallic drop cable is the preferred choice beside power distribution boxes and high-voltage lines, featuring electric shock prevention, lightning protection and anti-interference.
  • Temporary Communication Projects: Ideal for event sites and emergency communication due to convenient deployment and recycling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the entire GJYXFCH cable non-metallic?

The butterfly (drop) section is fully non-metallic with FRP. The standard version includes a steel messenger wire for tension; an all-FRP messenger version (fully dielectric throughout) can be supplied on request for total isolation.

Can it be used where there's a risk of lightning?

Yes — the FRP-reinforced section won’t conduct lightning-induced currents into the building or terminal equipment, making it the recommended choice for lightning-prone regions.

Does it require special tools to terminate?

No. It uses the same standard FTTH drop cable stripper and cold-joint / heat-shrink connectors as GJYXCH.

What is the difference between GJYXFCH and GJYXCH?
  • GJYXFCH: Full non-metallic structure. Anti-lightning, anti-electric leakage and anti-EM interference. Best for indoor, stairwells and areas near power lines.
  • GJYXCH: With metallic strength members. Higher tensile strength, mainly used for outdoor overhead and long-distance wall laying.
Where should GJYXFCH be used?

It is ideal for indoor FTTH, residential buildings, apartments, hotel rooms, office cabling, indoor monitoring and wiring beside strong current facilities. It is not recommended for long-distance outdoor overhead installation.

Can GJYXFCH be laid outdoors?

It is primarily an indoor cable. Short-distance exterior wall laying is acceptable, but long-term exposure to harsh outdoor weather or long-span overhead installation is not advised. Choose GJYXCH for professional outdoor use.

What are the common core counts?

1-core and 2-core are the most popular for FTTH. 4-core is available for projects requiring more fiber channels.

Is this cable lightning-proof?

Yes. Thanks to the full non-metallic design, it has excellent lightning protection and will not conduct electricity, which greatly reduces safety risks in buildings.
