Color: The outer sheath of single-mode patch cords is mostly yellow, while that of multi-mode is orange or gray. Core diameter: The core diameter of single-mode is 8-10μm, and that of multi-mode is 50/62.5μm. Transmission distance: Single-mode is suitable for long-distance transmission (from tens to hundreds of km), while multi-mode is suitable for short-distance transmission (within 500 m), such as patching within data center cabinets.
The core differences among the three lie in the end face structure and return loss:
PC: Spherical polishing, with a return loss of ≥40dB, meeting the requirements of conventional transmission;
UPC: Ultra-spherical polishing, with a return loss of ≥50dB, lower insertion loss, suitable for high-speed transmission in data centers;
APC: 8°inclined angle polishing, with a return loss of ≥65dB, the best anti-reflection performance, mostly used in high-demand scenarios such as broadcasting, CATV, etc.
Before plugging or unplugging, you need to clean the end face of the connector. You can use dust-free wiping paper dipped in absolute alcohol to wipe it, to avoid increased loss due to dust; when plugging or unplugging, hold the connector housing, do not pull the fiber optic cable body, to prevent the fiber core from breaking; when inserting, align the interface and gently push in; when pulling out, hold the unlock latch and then remove it, to avoid damaging the interface by violent operation.
The fiber patch cords support customization of connector types (such as LC-SC adapters, male-female connector combinations), length customization (0.5m – 1000m in any specification), sheath material customization (PVC/LSZH/ rat-proof armored), and color customization (matching your brand color).
There are mainly three reasons: The connector end face gets contaminated with dust or oil, causing the insertion loss to rise; The fiber patch cords is overly bent or squeezed, resulting in minor bending damage to the fiber core; The joint becomes loose and has poor contact with the equipment interface. It is recommended that you clean the end face regularly, check if the wiring is in order, and replace the damaged fiber patch cords in time.
